1. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting services from Lougheed Contracting, accepting a quote, signing a contract, or allowing work to begin on a project, the client agrees to the following Terms and Conditions.

These terms apply to all services provided by Lougheed Contracting unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.

2. Estimates and Quotes

All quotes provided by Lougheed Contracting are based on the information available at the time of the estimate.

Quotes may be subject to change due to:

  • Changes in project scope
  • Hidden structural or site issues
  • Material availability or price increases
  • Additional work requested by the client

Any additional work outside the original quote may require a revised estimate.

3. Deposits and Payments

Lougheed Contracting may require a deposit prior to beginning work.

Payment terms may include:

  • Deposit before project start
  • Progress payments during larger projects
  • Final payment upon completion

Unless otherwise stated, invoices are due upon receipt or within the time specified on the invoice.

Late payments may be subject to additional fees.

4. Project Scheduling

Project timelines are estimated and may vary depending on:

  • Weather conditions
  • Material availability
  • Permit delays
  • Site conditions
  • Client-requested changes

Lougheed Contracting will make reasonable efforts to complete projects within the expected timeframe but cannot guarantee exact completion dates.

5. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  1. Provide clear access to the work area
  2. Remove personal items from work areas
  3. Ensure utilities such as water and electricity are available if required
  4. Obtain necessary approvals from property owners or strata when applicable

Delays caused by the client may result in additional charges.

6. Unforeseen Conditions

During construction or repair work, unforeseen conditions may be discovered, including but not limited to:

  • Structural damage
  • Mold or water damage
  • Electrical or plumbing issues
  • Hidden building code violations

If such conditions arise, Lougheed Contracting will notify the client and may provide a revised quote before continuing work.

7. Permits and Inspections

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • The client is responsible for obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Lougheed Contracting may assist with permits when requested but does not guarantee approval timelines.

8. Changes to Project Scope

Any changes requested after work has begun may result in:

  • Additional costs
  • Revised timelines

Changes must be approved by both Lougheed Contracting and the client before work proceeds.

9. Warranty and Workmanship

Lougheed Contracting stands behind the quality of its workmanship.

Unless otherwise specified in writing:

  • Workmanship may be covered by a limited warranty period beginning on the completion date.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse or neglect
  • Alterations or repairs performed by others
  • Environmental factors or natural events

10. Property Damage

While every effort is made to protect the client’s property, construction work may involve certain risks.

Lougheed Contracting is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing structural issues
  • Hidden defects in the building
  • Damage caused by conditions outside of our control

Any concerns must be reported promptly.

11. Right to Refuse or Terminate Service

Lougheed Contracting reserves the right to refuse or terminate services if:

  • Unsafe working conditions are present
  • Payment obligations are not met
  • The client interferes with work operations

In such cases, payment will be required for all completed work and materials purchased.

12. Limitation of Liability

Lougheed Contracting’s liability shall be limited to the value of the services provided.

We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from construction work or project delays.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Canada and the Province in which Lougheed Contracting operates.

14. Updates to Terms

Lougheed Contracting reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page.
